The Burn's much more than just a modification of the critically acclaimed H3. We've listened to detailed feedback and given you more volume and subtly tweaked rails to keep you on the surface and on line. We've also refined the rails to stop you hanging up on shallower runs and rockslides and, of course, we've loaded it with the lightest, strongest outfitting around.

What does all this mean? It adds up to a boat that's easier to paddle in even more places. Whether you're eddy hopping down remote gorges in distant locations or burning your local on a Sunday afternoon, you'll soon forget about the Burn's pedigree and concentrate on having fun.

Increased Rocker:
The Burn has increased bow rocker and a more rounded bow than the H3s giving it a more creeker feel up front and also allowing it to glance off objects better than the H3 keeping you on line. The increased rocker also helps with the transition back to forward paddling after landing drops and boofing.

Increased Volume:
The increase in the volume of the Burns is probably most apparent in the M size. There is substantial more volume in the M from the 245 H3 to allow a wider range of paddlers into the one boat and also allow it to be fully loaded up for multi day trips too.
This is all kept in the right places to ensure that it still feels sweet on a quick run down you local after work. This increase in volume is distributed through the boat, the bow is a little wider but it is most visible on the front and rear decks. These also have well defined water shedding ridges that keep the Burn on track when you punch through holes and resurface after drops.

Narrower Hull:
While the overall width will remain pretty close compared to the H3 the actual width of the flat hull the Burn sits on in the water is slightly narrower. This makes the boat more responsive and helps us to keep the side walls curved reducing the effect that strong side currents will have on the boat and also making rolling easier too.

Raised rear gunwale line:
The rear gunwale line has been raised higher to reduce water loading on it in really big water conditions or when fully loaded up for those multi day trips or a long day. This extra height in the rear of the boat really makes it feel super predictable when the conditions start getting a bit confused with lots of big boils and cross currents ect.

New Rail:
The hull features a new rail that is also slightly raised further up the boat to make sure it does not get hung up when you run shallower sides and when edging over rocks. This new rail still carves with a sweet precision so you can snap in to micro eddy’s or just cruise in to the big ones as you wish.

New pillar:
A new redesigned pillar system that bolts through the deck in two recessed locations and fastens in to the lighter and more ridged hull stiffener. This new pillar has a smaller profile making it lighter and giving more internal space. It also includes a curved recess for throwbags or drinks bottles. After lots of feedback the new pillar is also shaped better to hold on too when your carrying ur Burn.

Fullplate Bolt & end grab recesses:
We have recessed the footrest mounting bolts running down the sides that hold the usual bomb proof pod footrest unit. Another small detail we have also improved the recess for the 1000kgs (2200lbs) end grabs which are made for us exclusively by Wild Country and DMM. This recess not only looks better and stops snagging on the edges it also gathers more material in this key strength area. (The ratings on all our end grabs are as fitted to the kayak)
